A Bowl a Day

A Cup a Day

A Plate a Day

It's been two years since the old Brunswick shed was knocked back to slab and replaced with my studio. A lot has happened in that time: we've been to Sweden for four months, I finished writing Evil at the Heart, Adele had her second birthday and Grace turned nine.

In the last three months - since the Brunswick South Primary Art Fair - I've been inspired to get potting. I'm working on an Alice in Wonderland range, and back to the Cthulhu cups, boxes and masks, which previously sold well. A friend is using the studio 1 day per week and it's fun to share with her what I've learned over twenty years. She's taught me some new things too, learned from her previous teacher.

The space works well as I have it set up, with wet area and decorating area, but I'm still unable to get the kiln connected, due to insane permitting of domestic kilns that totals to nearly $4,000 and slackness of gas-fitters.  At least I have acknowledgement from the gas-fitter who did come that the kiln should be able to go in the spot I have planned for it and meet the regulations. It's disheartening to make things, and have them break in transit, even with Northcote Pottery now so close and providing a firing service.

I've used the name Piccolo Pottery for over twenty years, and have a lot of fondness for it so that the name you can find my work under on Etsy and Ebay listings.

I hope to post here ideas and events, images of things that work and don't, and to use the blog as a spur to get in there and *do* *something* at least once a week. It's too easy to be disorganised and distracted by the many other calls on my time but no more procrastination.
